The Showpiece of the Second Nature Collection, Second Nature is a harmonious love letter to change. I came up with the title of this Collection and this piece, while reflecting on the concepts of resiliency and intuition, particularly in the face of experiencing something utterly new and uncharted. The most recent example of this for me personally, was becoming a mother, but of course the older I grow, I can look back and see many examples of how I faced the unknown with a sense of instinct that I couldn’t notice in the moment. More literally, this painting captures an area of my hometown where I now realize I was often drawn to reflect and be present. I love Canmore deeply, and a large part of my story will always live there. I hope this piece helps to communicate that sense love and history.
