Kayla Eykelboom

B. 1994

She / Her

Kayla is a contemporary landscape painter based in Fernie, British Columbia, Canada. Growing up in Canmore, Alberta, she is most known for her mountain work. Time spent in the backcountry and recreating with her family outdoors led Kayla to pursue an education in Ecological Sciences. As a result, Kayla is passionate about conservation, and has periodically worked in alpine and marine research roles.

You will experience amplified hues of the natural world in Kayla’s pieces, and wilder strokes paired with intentional and delicate details. Kayla attributes this expressive and vibrant nature of her work to her childhood and teenage years spent competitive dancing, and injecting her life with music from an early age. Rarely seen without headphones on, music, rhythm, and emotion inform all aspects of her work.

Kayla’s artwork is meant to be a celebration and an appreciation of nature and life, and will be sure to bring a sense of wonder to the viewer.
